Restorative justice gives victims the chance to meet or communicate with their offenders to explain the real impact of the crime – it empowers victims by giving them a voice. It also holds offenders to account for what they have done and helps them to take responsibility and make amends. Restorative justice is about victims and offenders communicating within a controlled environment to talk about the harm that has been caused and finding a way to repair that harm.

South Wales Victim Focus work closely with Community Rehabilitation Company, Youth Offending Teams and the National Probation Service and can help you take part in restorative justice if this is something you would like to do. Your local Victim Focus Team can provide you with emotional support throughout any Restorative Justice process and ensure that your needs are put forward and listened to at all times. This would include being with you during a face to face conference.
